Background
Chris King regularly represents institutional and private clients in the areas of commercial banking and finance, corporate, commercial real estate, and project funding. His broad-based industry experience in finance, real estate, manufacturing, and agriculture gives him a unique perspective and business network.
Chris has over seventeen years of trusted experience managing billions in commercial transactions and is licensed in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. Prior to pursuing his legal education, he worked in the printing and flexible packaging industries, where he specialized in graphical pre-press, systems development, and Six Sigma quality management and control.

Background
Michael Kozlarek provides client-centric services with a focus on government finance, economic/community development projects, real estate, development agreements/public-private partnerships, asset acquisition, intergovernmental agreements, and legislation. Prior to King Kozlarek Root, Michael created Kozlarek Law and was a co-owner (unit partner) of a nationally recognized, regionally situated firm where he garnered over 14 years of extensive experience in all sizes and manner of financings and economic development projects around the country. Michael has been involved in billions of dollars of investment and the creation of tens of thousands of jobs in economic development matters, some of which have been more “traditional” while others have been more innovative representations involving downtown and community development.

Background
With more than two decades of experience practicing government and business law, David Root brings an invaluable combination of experience and enthusiasm to King Kozlarek Root.
Prior to joining the firm, David served as the County Attorney for Oconee County, South Carolina. Through his work as Oconee’s in-house corporate counsel, David became well-versed in various government practice areas. From assessment issues to zoning and land use matters, David helped guide the County as it navigated the many and varied obstacles a local government routinely encounters. Further, before accepting the position with Oconee County, David spent many years in private practice in Charleston, South Carolina, where he assisted numerous government and business entities with transactions, corporate issues, litigation avoidance, and civil litigation.
Representing organizations as both in-house and outside counsel, in transactional and litigation matters, has given David a unique skill set that he employs in the furtherance of King Kozlarek Root’s mission – To propel our clients toward success and opportunity and to positively contribute to the communities around us – To make a difference!

Background
Originally from Hickory, North Carolina, Farrah moved to the Upstate in 2005 after living in Charlotte for several years. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Farrah also completed the Palmetto School of Real Estate and obtained her Real Estate Salesperson License.
Farrah has experience working as a litigation paralegal in both NC and SC for 10-plus years. She was a Senior Credit Risk Analyst and Bank Owned Real Estate Manager for a regional bank for 9 years. She also has experience as a Transaction Coordinator for a local real estate company.
When she is not working, she enjoys hiking and biking with her husband and spending time with her kids. You can also find her gardening and taking long walks with her Boykin Spaniel, Clyde.

Background
Christie is our Senior Paralegal and Practice Manager for the firm. In addition to role as Senior Paralegal, she is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day accounting and billing functions of the firm. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina and her paralegal certificate from The National Center for Paralegal Training.
Christie has over three decades of paralegal experience and is grateful for having spent that time working under strong managing attorney mentors who greatly influenced her career, work ethic, and values. She has assisted in multi-million-dollar transactions and hundreds of litigation cases, including, mediations, arbitrations, jury trials, cases before the Administrative Law Court and appellate cases in the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
In her spare time, Christie enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
